Celebrity Makeovers!
We are all obsessed with celebrity makeovers of teeth aren’t we? Or is it just me!?
I often have patients ask me about improving the appearance of their teeth and they ask about celebrity makeovers. The reality is, many celebrities have crowns of veneers on their teeth , which is a very destructive way to change the appearance of the teeth as it involves removing tooth tissue. Although crowns are fantastic way to restore a broken tooth or where a patient has many fillings on a their teeth or severely discoloured teeth, for a cosmetic case, there may be other less destructive ways to achieve a beautiful smile!
In a cosmetic case, excellent results can be achieved by using the “ABB” technique- Align, Bleach and Bond- So straightening the teeth with aligners, whitening the teeth with carbamide peroxide and bonding on fillings with composite to alter the length or width of a tooth. This is a simple, non destructive way to change the appearance of teeth without any drilling away natural tooth tissue!

1. Cheryl Cole. Dentists all over the world admire Cheryl Cole's veneers- they are so well done and in perfect proportion to her face in my opinion
2. Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise has had a life long relationship with the dentist and has had years of orthodontics and restorative dentistry and tooth whitening to achieve his perfect smile. Great symmetry, shape of teeth and shade make this dentistry case epic!
3. Catherine Zeta Jones. Another case we dentists swoon over, lovely crowns or veneers here that work in harmony with Catherine's features
4. Zac Effron- Zac had a gap between his front teeth, called a diastema, corrective orthodontics and veneers or crowns were likely used here to give Zac his perfect smle!
