I want to straighten my teeth- what are my options!

There are lots of options to straighten your teeth. Dr Jennifer Collins provides a range of orthodontic treatments in Northumberland Dental Care including Invisalign and Inman Aligners.

Orthodontics is the art of straightening teeth for aesthetic or functional reasons.

When adult require braces, they have several options;

Invisalign

Invisalign are an excellent option for a patient who is looking to straighten their teeth with a discreet appliance. Like everything, it has pro's and con's. They are very comfortable to wear, are practically invisible and are changed every week to accommodate small movements of the teeth each week. They rely on patient compliance and must be worn at least 21 hours a day. They are removed when eating and drinking. They can also be damaged so care must be taken with them. They work excellently on patients who have had braces i the past and the teeth have relapsed. Invisalign have a new "Smileview" option to allow patients to visualise what there teeth will look like with invisalign.

Fixed appliances or "train tracks"!

Our very own Dr Jennifer Collins is currently undergoing orthodontic treatment with our friend Dr Finn Geoghegan . Fixed appliances are necessary when there is more complicated tooth movement required i.e. to move several teeth once or to correct a midline. They are fixed onto the teeth and are on permanently during the course of the treatment.

Inman aligners are a removable appliance that offer a fast and effective way to move teeth in a short space of time. They are suitable for movement of front teeth only and are more cost effective than fixed appliance or invisalign/clear aligners.

Tretiva 20mg Capsule is an anti-acne medicine composed of isotretinoin, and it is a form of vitamin A used to treat acne. Each capsule contains a dose of 10mg or 20mg of isotretinoin. The dose of isotretinoin capsules varies from person to person and depends on your weight. Swallow the capsules whole with a drink of water. It's best to take them straight after a meal or snack to make sure they work properly.
